Description

WFT would officially like to invite all our members to our 2019 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, July 3rd in Brooks Hotel (Drury St, Dublin) at 5:30pm.

We encourage all members to attend however please RSVP by registering on Billetto before June 20th so we know how many people to expect

Note: If you cannot make it, you are welcome to return the below ‘proxy form’ and nominate another member to vote in your place. Please complete and return the proxy from via email before June 20th.

All members in good standing will receive an email via our Newsletter which includes links to the following documents:

  • Official 2019 AGM Notification
  • Approved 2018 Financial Statements
  • Proxy Form
  • Minutes of the Directors' Meeting setting the date of the AGM

If you have not received this Newsletter (please check your spam folder!) you are very welcome to email us at info@wft.ie and we will re-send it to you with the above documents.

You MUST be a current member in good standing to attend the AGM. Please make sure you are up-to-date with your WFT membership by logging in to the site and checking your subscription.

At the AGM we will review/approve the financial accounts for 2018, elect/re-elect the board, and vote on some proposed constitutional changes.

The WFT board will submit constitutional changes to be voted on at the AGM, as follows: to allow for a lower quorum; to change the total number of WFT Board of Directors; and to allow future board members to be co-opted after a board member resigns during the year.

A number of board members are stepping down in 2019 and we are seeking qualified replacements to stand for election. WFT has recently undergone a strategic review during which certain skill deficits have been identified. We are obliged, therefore, to ensure the effective running of the board, to seek board members who meet the skill requirements identified by our strategic reviewer. With that in mind, members will be asked to vote in replacements at the AGM. All members are of course welcome to stand for board election and any who do so will be asked to present themselves in a two minute pitch on the day. If you want to stand for election please email us your CV before June 20th. If you meet the criteria, and are thinking of running, you must be a current member of WFT Ireland to put yourself forward, and you must attend the AGM on July 3rd. These are voluntary positions and require a minimum of 4 hours work per month, plus a two-hour meeting every other month (being a board member is quite a ‘hands-on’ role).

[Please note that the AGM is a somewhat formal event, we must cover the above activity in order to meet our official organisational compliance. This all takes about 1-1.5 hours and unfortunately, therefore, there is little time for networking or general brain-storming. We run several other events where there’s a bit more time for less formal chats with the board or between members. We also have a members’ Facebook group, we’re on emails, and our Chair attends numerous events each year where we’d love to see you. Thanks for your understanding].

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
