The Theatrical Cavaliers (the cricket club for actors and associated professions) are hosting their annual Gala Charity Quiz in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre this year. The quiz has become one of the highlights of the social calendar.
Tickets are available for tables of 4 (€80).
The generosity of sponsors over the last 23 years has enabled the Cavaliers to raise over €120,000 for such diverse charities as Cradle, the Royal Hospital Donnybrook, the Capuchin Day Centre, the Phillip Quinlan Fund, the Peter McVerry Hostels for Young People, Youth Horizons, The Blackrock Hospice, the Genetic and Rare Disorders Organisation (GRDO), the Parkinson’s support group PALS and St Vincent’s Foundation.
Since its foundation in 1977, Dublin Youth Theatre (DYT) has forged a unique contribution to the worlds of theatre and youth work. For almost 40 years DYT has been a safe, welcoming place where members can meet other young people from all parts of Dublin in a fun, artistic and social environment. It is not a stage school or a theatre training programme, but a voluntary youth club where the main activity is drama.
A registered charity, Dublin Youth Theatre delivers quality artistic experiences through a full and varied drama workshop programme and the production of excellent, exciting and challenging theatre made by young people aged 14-22 in Dublin.
