Description

Join the Waterford Women's Centre for a celebration of International Women's Day, with this 7k Walk on the Greenway. It is 25 years since the foundation of the Centre and now we are aiming to raise funds to make our buildings and projects sustainable into the future. Here's to the next 25 years!

The "Well Girl" Walk is a family friendly event and all are welcome. Children are FREE if accompanied by an adult.

The walk will be launched by Grace O Sullivan MEP and led by Olympian Walker Kate Veale

All proceeds will go to our fund and will help us to clear the debt and make way for a brighter future.

Many thanks from all of us!

Organiser

Founded in 1995, the Waterford Women’s Centre is now in its 25th year! This year will be one of huge celebration and we are planning a fantastic International Women’s Day series of event. In fact our celebrations will take up a full week!

About us

As one of the 17 NCCWN (National Collective of Community Based Women's Networks) the Women's Centre works with women to enable participation through removing barriers and building confidence.

Recognising class/gender conditioning and how cultural, political and economic structures impact, the women’s centre aims to provide a space where:

1. Women can challenge barriers

2. Structures that impact negatively on women can be collectively challenged

By providing a space for women who are normally excluded from many areas, in particular from decision making, the Women's Centre builds capacity so that voices not usually heard can be.

The Women's Centre creche provides care for up to 35 children.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
