★★★★ EXCLUSIVE IRISH DATE ★★★★ With Support from Freedom 35's and MIU DJ's

The Spitfires are a Watford-based 4 piece who have released 2 albums (Response, A Thousand Times) and have extensively toured since their inception in 2012.

The band have scored a national UK number 1 vinyl single with ‘So Long’ and have entered the UK Independent Charts at Number 6 and Number 2 respectively.

The band are led by frontman, lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Billy Sullivan who is joined by Sam Long on Bass and vocals, Chris Chanell on keyboards and vocals and Matt Johnson on the drums.

Their work ethic and powerful song-writing mixed with their acute social commentary and lack of mainstream industry support has made this fiercely independent band one of the most popular underground success stories in the UK today.

This DIY attitude and independent spirit has earned them a dedicated following and helped the band sell out shows across the whole of the UK and Europe.

The Spitfires gear up for 2017 by playing some selected live dates and starting work on their next album.

Friday 17th February – The Charles Bradlaugh, Northampton

Sat 18th February – St Luke’s, Glasgow (Supporting Pete MacLeod)

Sat 25th February – The Portland Arms, Cambridge

Saturday March 25th – The Horn, St Albans

What the press said about A Thousand Times:

“Spiky, rebellious rock 'n' roll delivered with no small degree of street smarts and style” – Clash Magazine

“The fight-back from the beaten generation starts here” – Daily Mirror

“Inspiring on every level. The frightening thing is how much they’ve already achieved independently. Most bands these days don’t even know their arses from their elbows, unless a record company guides them. The Spitfires however, have taken on the industry and shown them that the fire and spirit is alive and well amongst today’s youth and won’t be stopped.” – Metro

“Insurgent energy…demands and then holds your attention” – Shindig! Magazine[4/5]

"A Thousand Times manages not only to capture the band's momentum of the past year but expand their sound into new areas" - Vive Le Rock [8/10]

“A masterpiece, songwriting genius” – Original Rock [9/10]

"Early in their brief history The Spitfires were all-too easily written off as Jam copyists, yet this album proves they have an identity all of their own...a standout record that marks Billy Sullivan out as a special talent and The Spitfires as a band to of the records of 2016" - Modculture
