Rue are Brian Flanagan on banjo with Cormac Mac Diarmada (fiddle) and Radie Peat (harmonium/concertina) who both play with Dublin folk miscreants Lynched/Lankum. They present an intoxicating & eclectic mix of traditional songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic performed with immutable conviction. Expect whaling songs and murder ballads underpinned by a wash of harmonic swells and drones and a barn-dance or two thrown in for good measure. Rue were recently part of Donal Dineen & Myles O'Reilly's exceptional pilot for a new Irish music television show and the results were rather outstanding to say the least
Landless are Lily Power, Meabh Meir, Ruth Clinton and Sinead Lynch. Formed in 2013 and based in Dublin and Belfast, they sing unaccompanied traditional songs in four-part harmony. They are currently recording their debut album with John Murphy in Guerilla Studios due for release in Summer 2017 on Humble Serpent Records. Expect goosebumps. Lots and lots of goosebumps.
We are delighted & excited to host Sheffield's prodigiously talented Jim Ghedi to Dublin for his Irish debut. Jim explores instrumental 6 & 12 string guitar music and traditional folk song.
"Jim Ghedi is easily one of the most mind-bogglingly prodigious talents in Sheffield today"
