Evelyn Purcell a performing art teacher and actor who runs Next Stage Theatre School in Kildare and Meath and who is also the sister to Sarah who has Down syndrome in the Kildare Branch will be doing online Zoom Dance classes for our branch members with Down syndrome aged 10 and upwards on the following dates:
Thursday 7th January @ 5.30pm
Thursday 14th January @ 5.30pm
Thursday 21st January @ 5.30pm
Thursday 28th January @ 5.30pm
The 45 min class structure is as follows:
- Log in, say hello to everyone, share news, allow friends to say hi to each other
- Dance warm up - I use Spotlight view on Zoom and mute everyone so they can only see and hear me on the big screen.
- Start learning a dance - previous examples include Mamma Mia, Shotgun, Little Mix, Westlife etc
- Pause for a 5 min break and game
- Continue learning dance and perform what we learn at the end of class for parents or whoever is at home.
