Description
Our original Build School course spans five days and provides a comprehensive introduction to construction, taught through a combination of practical and theory-based sessions. Our theme for 2022 is tiny homes. Together we will construct a compact, portable structure, designed to meet our basic need for shelter. It will be designed to be built for as low a cost as possible. Level One students will bring the structure to an enclosed shell while Level Two students will focus on the internal design, finishes and carpentry.
What we will cover:
- Building structures - Force distribution and foundations
- Roofing - Materials / Rain water catchment
- Insulation - The what, why and how of Insulation
- Finishes - Cladding / Waterproofing
- Energy - Electricity basics / Energy harvesting
Our course fees cover tools, tuition fees, materials, wholesome daily food, tea & coffee. *On-site camping available for 5euro per night.
