______________
It's a West of Ireland triple bill for our final music event at The Model.

County Mayo native, Alannah Thornburgh, is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer with a focus on traditional Irish harp. Alannah’s music explores her family’s musical heritage, reimagining ancient airs and tunes from the Irish harping and American Appalachian and Jazz traditions.

Raised on a diet of salty sea air and sideways rain in the West of Ireland, Branwen's live performances involve storytelling, an array of unmusical objects employed as instruments, as well as actual instruments including loop pedals, banjo and guitar. Her work is imagination centric and is inspired by mythology and folklore from home and around the world.

In a forced change, celebrated saxophonist and sound-artist Cathal Roche will be joining this billA saxophonist specialising in extended techniques, Cathal’s reputation is unparalleled and has led to collaborations with artists as diverse as the Vanbrugh and ConTempo String Quartets, Atila Csihar, Izumi Kimura, Phil Minton, Ian Wilson, Ronan Guilfoyle, Ties Mellema, Lorcan Mac Mathuna, Gabriel Rosenstock, Kate Wilson, and many others.

Spilt Milk Festival wishes to acknowledge our funders for 2021; the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media; Sligo Leader Partnership Rural Development Programme and SICAP Community Grant; IMRO; Sligo County Council; and Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB.
